tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-80544817217520305362024-03-18T13:59:51.477+01:00it's a heart heart seasonA personal blog written about the things that make me happy to do or to look at. I love papercrafting, so some of it turns into DIY-posts - and I make it my business to make DIY projects that are truly easy to carry out in real life, mostly all you need is a printer, a bit of paper, and some glue. The blog started as a christmas project, but has turned into my year round space for sharing things beautiful or fascinating or fun, that catch my attention. I decided to post a new heart online every day from December 1st. to December 24th. <br /><br />I wasn't quite sure how to do it, and decided on the Blogspot platform a bit randomly - since the interface was super easy to use and customize - and I had a VERY busy month, since I hadn't quite done 24 designs, when I began posting. I started out gently, on November 28th <a href="http://heartheartseason.blogspot.com/2011/11/quiet-start.html" target="_blank"><b>(see the very first post here)</b></a>, with a bit of a warm up. It was lots of fun, and the year after I had to repeat the whole thing with NEW designs, since lots of people insisted, that it was now a most important Christmas tradition!<br /><br />In 2012, I had prepared a bit more, and posted a variety of paper DIY projects, not only the woven hearts. And gradually it became an actual blog, where I shared a lot of things I find joyful, from graphic design to architecture, fashion and paper art - to the small stories from my everyday life. But as a theme, all year round, I have posted fun paper projects you can print and make yourself, and always for free. <a href="http://heartheartseason.blogspot.com/p/old-hearts-download-here.html" target="_blank"><b>I made a practical list of those posts right here</b></a> - and the rest you can explore in my tag cloud to the left.<br /><br />The concept is always the same: all you need is household printer paper, some scissors and glue and access to a printer. And the designs can't be too complicated to make - but I always add my own custom design to the printed templates. I love working with patterns and colors, so that's half the fun for me. Origami has become a central thing, and I never tire of looking for new fun ways of making simple, pretty paper decorations. <br /><br />I don't have a philosophical take on any of this, but still: I would like to encourage you to do seasonal decorations yourself from cheap or repurposed materials, as opposed to buying a lot of new plastic stuff every year. And enjoy yourself while making them. <br /><br />Blogging frequently became too impossible to combine with work and family, and from 2019 I haven't updated the blog. It will stay where it is, however - lot's of people are visiting still, and I like the idea of that. Recently I gave the blog an Instagram face and when I feel the urge to share a fun paper project in the future, it will happen there. <br /><br />So why don't you follow <b><a href="https://www.instagram.com/heartheartseason/" target="_blank">@heartheartseason</a></b> on Instagram? <br />And thank you for ALL your visits and feedback and sweet comments over the years. </div><p style="text-align: justify;">love, Tina<br /></p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8054481721752030536.post-83401517409458286582019-04-18T00:07:00.001+02:002021-09-02T16:59:50.219+02:00Some long overdue Easter greetings<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvQs5-9B_fiCxNcmvXy1RsMAuk_AlkYWcI0fRlBId6jHGg1mxCZKpoAjlviqUNFB5cTz9lFf2EEaX1B4qsj4Pixonvp6vQWcBmJOPbR_-zu9j-0MRtU4xoNU_NZwAzTejbKVTy1X85JtY/s1600/610_sommerfugle.jpg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="610" data-original-width="610" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvQs5-9B_fiCxNcmvXy1RsMAuk_AlkYWcI0fRlBId6jHGg1mxCZKpoAjlviqUNFB5cTz9lFf2EEaX1B4qsj4Pixonvp6vQWcBmJOPbR_-zu9j-0MRtU4xoNU_NZwAzTejbKVTy1X85JtY/s1600/610_sommerfugle.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This blog is full of excuses for long periods of silence, but - as mentioned before - I consider using Instagram as my communication platform instead, and keeping the blog as a kind of projects library? Well, all this is stuff I think of in spare time, of which I sometimes don't have much. <br />I'm sure my readers have exactly the same kind of everyday issues....</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Easter is upon us, and I actually always feel like colours and flowers and letting all that light in through the windows again - and making pretty things as decorations for Easter parties, or to give away with Easter eggs. This year I made these simple butterflies, they are perhaps the most basic origami I have ever shared here. Great for kids to make, or for impatient types like me. Or you?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<a href="https://flic.kr/p/2mkgmXi" target="_blank"><b>Get my simple one page tutorial right here </b></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I made bundles of them, and stuck a bit of thin wire through them, and put them on branches from our cherry trees, and it looked very charming. I did a small origami workshop in my workplace at the book shop, and several kids came by and folded with great enthusiasm. We used origami paper <a href="https://www.google.com/search?q=djeco+origami&client=firefox-b-d&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjBvtTri9jhAhXvyKYKHQerCqQQ_AUIDigB&biw=1634&bih=1005" target="_blank"><b>from Djeco</b></a>, as seen in the photo, since we sell their really cool line of paper products. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But maybe you feel like revisiting some of my older spring projects? </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
There were <a href="http://heartheartseason.blogspot.com/2014/04/cherry-blossom-flowerballs.html" target="_blank"><b>the Sakura flowerballs</b></a> - also made in a <a href="http://heartheartseason.blogspot.com/2016/05/spring-favorite-4-buttercup-flowerballs.html" target="_blank"><b>Buttercup version. </b></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Last year, I made these <a href="http://heartheartseason.blogspot.com/2018/03/pleated-easter-eggs.html" target="_blank"><b>colorful pleated Easter Egg Lanterns</b></a> - and many of you liked those<b> <a href="http://heartheartseason.blogspot.com/2015/03/easter-is-near-so-of-course-i-have.html" target="_blank">Cheerful Little Birds.</a></b><br /><br />You can use my tag cloud to explore, there are plenty more. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Have a lovely Easter or - if you don't celebrate Easter - simply a lovely spring!</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Dearest readers, thank you for following this year's very low budget Christmas festivities on this blog<i>. </i>I do hope that some of the old posts we revisited were new to you, or just forgotten by you, and that some of it was useful.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
All that remains is to simply wish you some happy holidays, whether they are about
Christmas or something else - and may you have some well deserved rest,
peace and quiet with someone that are dear to you.<br />
<br />
<i>Alt er love </i><br />
<br />
PS: I found this wonderful and wild Christmas tree on Pinterest - the photo is by Ellie Chavez. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
We are not having a white Christmas here, that's for sure (and it <i>is</i> very rare), but this is a way of compensating: complicated looking (but easy to make) end three dimensional paper snowflakes. These are rather large decorations, and they look especially nice in a window, I think - plus they are the kind of pretty things you may want to leave there, even after Christmas. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
They are printed on heavy paper or card stock, and the trick is all about cutting slits and folding the pieces correctly, and these cool paper sculptures are quite simple to make. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<a href="https://heartheartseason.blogspot.com/2016/12/sharp-looking-snowflakes.html" target="_blank"><b>Everything is explained in this old post from 2016, and there is a photo tutorial as well.</b></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So give them a try - or check out some of the <a href="https://heartheartseason.blogspot.com/search/label/snowflakes" target="_blank"><b>other posts I have done on snowflakes</b></a>, that are a bit of a thing for me, I guess...</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
As you know, I'm very fond of making Fröbel Stars, so much in fact, that I dedicated a lot of hours, trying to describe and demonstrate as many variants as I know, <a href="http://heartheartseason.blogspot.com/2017/12/star-parade-on-december-first.html" target="_blank"><b>in this post, an absolute go-to spot for Fröbel enthusiasts. </b></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Because I like making them, I buy lots of those ready made strips, that are so abundantly available in the Christmas season here in Denmark. They come in so many pretty patterns and colors, and I have amassed quite a boxful. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So, I like to play around with them, and come up with alternative ways of using them<i>.</i> These<i> Flat Weave Stars</i> I originally made in 2013. Back then I made special color/pattern strips for them (you can still download and use those, of course). </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The ones in these photos, I made last night, from some of the different Fröbel strips I had. Because a Fröbel star needs four strips, you eften end up with 'leftovers' in certain designs, and these are just made from a mix of whatever was there. <br />
<i><br />For each of these you'll need eight half length strips</i>. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<a href="http://heartheartseason.blogspot.com/2013/12/easy-peasy-flat-weave-stars.html" target="_blank"><b>Here is the original post from 2013, with a photo tutorial on how to make them. Fun and easy!</b></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The tutorial explains the very simple principle, and the easiest way to make them (the folded strips laid out flat on the table and then woven, hence the name). I made them with 2 x 4 strips, but you could make them larger, smaller, or not even square - experiment, and have a happy Advent 3rd!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1tGCLZw1L8aXTlUJOlqqUl49yz_Hzt9kBYqnV3W9XtqyG4CBNzHQzynYlIzTnEdd03H_4jEEOgHRfrRKhTD3txL8BItmwH_BO4iSuOJ61G_3gQB3rWZMjqBrirYNR8_Fgm7RQURTIFe0/s1600/flats_rettet_3_besk_610.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="610" data-original-width="610" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1tGCLZw1L8aXTlUJOlqqUl49yz_Hzt9kBYqnV3W9XtqyG4CBNzHQzynYlIzTnEdd03H_4jEEOgHRfrRKhTD3txL8BItmwH_BO4iSuOJ61G_3gQB3rWZMjqBrirYNR8_Fgm7RQURTIFe0/s1600/flats_rettet_3_besk_610.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<i>Update - I made this last one, seen below, and I thought it might be nice to add that image as well.</i><br />
<br />
<i>As you can see, this was made with 2 x 6 strips, and you could make them very large, as long as the number is even, and the strips have a little extra length for maneuvering. They're quite fun to make!</i><br />

Today's blog throwback is all about concertina folding, as I like to call it. Something I like to do, even though it can be a bit fiddly to turn into a flat, round ornament - but with a bit of patience and practise it is super easy. It's perfect for gorgeous flowers and stars, I think, and it doesn't involve a lot of thinking or complicated folding sequences - all you have to do is make a whole lot of really, really sharp and even folds. </div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Let's kick December off (well, almost) with one of the very first designs I made for this blog: The <i>Countdown Heart</i> from 2011, from the original Advent Calendar format, where I posted a new heart every single day in December (all of them woven hearts, as these are a traditional and very old Danish Christmas decoration). I was on maternity leave and had more time for blogging back then!<br />You can <a href="http://heartheartseason.blogspot.com/p/more-hearts.html" target="_blank"><b>read a bit about weaving hearts here</b></a>. I also made a <b><a href="https://flic.kr/p/2mkmAgo" target="_blank">simple one page tutorial</a>.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<a href="http://heartheartseason.blogspot.com/2011/12/countdown.html" target="_blank"><b>Here's the original post from 2011, with the design to download as well, of course. </b></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But I wanted to post an origami heart as well, and I found that these (seen on the dark background in the photos), originally made for Valentine's in 2017, are great for Christmas as well. They can be used as gift tags, mini Christmas cards or made into a really cool garland (see photo - they have a natural slit on one side, that you use for the ribbon) - and if you punch a hole for a bit of string, you could decorate your tree with them. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
They are super easy to make, and a fun origami design - note: made not from a square paper, but from a rectangular one. Which is why I did a whole series of measured papers, ready to cut and fold, in a lot of funky red / pink / coral patterns. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<a href="http://heartheartseason.blogspot.com/2017/02/you-should-definitely-heart-someone.html" target="_blank"><br /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is what the Countdown Heart looks like (below), before you weave it - and if you have never woven a Christmas heart before, now would be the perfect time to start!</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Back in 2014, I made this very large and colorful paper bauble for the blog. <br />
<br />
It's a very simple design, a sphere made from twenty circular paper units, each of these folded into a triangular shape (and as usual, to make it as easy as possible, I even made the folding lines for you). </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
A really fun and intriguing construction, and one that could easily be made in any kind of slightly sturdy paper, that might take your fancy - but I liked the idea of a patchwork multi-pattern bauble. Now, to un-celebrate the ghastly <i>Black Friday</i>, lets give it a rerun this year!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Here is a link back to the original post from December 2014, with a series of step-by-step images, explaining how to make it (all you need is scissors and glue), and of course, the link to the original design PDF. </div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
My dearest readers and visitors here on <i>heartheartseason</i> - it's been one of those years, where everything has been under investigative consideration... </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
What could be different? Where am I going? Should I make a big job/career change? Or some other changes? Big things, small things.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The blog has been among these - as you who are familiar with it knows, it's not my day job or anything even close to that.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I do my paper projects at random times, they pop out of nowhere and sometimes they take physical shape immediately, other times they get sort of filed, to be worked on later. I never know when the urge comes over me - and to plan for a Christmas season with a handful of cool projects, is actually a huge job. It's meant to look easy and whimsical, but of course hours of design work, planning and photography - and then uploading and writing - comes before every paper DIY post! This year it just hasn't been possible. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I love doing them, however. I really do! But I have thought about moving the visual part and the community part of this blog over to Instagram (where you can visit my personal feed, <b><a href="https://www.instagram.com/tinataul/" target="_blank">and where I love to post about memorable and nice things in my everyday life</a></b>) - and then simply keeping a kind of library and storage space for the actual DIY-files on some other online platform.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I just don't know? This blog has around five to ten thousand visits per month these days, something I am very honored and proud of, and I can see from statistics that people visit my DIY posts a lot. That makes me SO happy! Would you follow this blog on Instagram? Would the content work there? <br />
Comments are most welcome!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><i><br /></i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><i>But anyhow, what's that image above got to do with any of that?</i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Well, a lot of this year has been focused on looking for work, within my professional life: as a graphic designer and overall marketing person. I have been moderately successful and have made a couple of really nice projects, and have even been studying a bit. But a new job is yet to be found. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In the meantime I have taken a temporary but very full time job in a big local book shop, as a holiday season extra pair of hands. I'm starting tomorrow and I think it's gonna be FUN. It's something completely different, and I need that so much.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And Christmas on the blog?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I promise you this.... Every Friday from late November, I will do an inspirational greatest hits recap of some of the older projects - some of them you will have totally forgotten, or maybe never seen before. I will try to theme them a bit, and hope you will enjoy them. Till then! </div>

Earlier this summer, when I took one of my rare strolls down our inner city walking street <i>Strøget</i>, a shop window really made me stop. Now, it was in a shop I usually check out, but this was different! <br />
<br />
It turned out to be this really cool creative collaboration between British artist and visual concept maker, <a href="http://www.sophiesmallhorn.co.uk/" target="_blank"><b>Sophie Smallhorn</b></a>, and the Swedish fashion brand <a href="https://www.cosstores.com/en_dkk/index.html" target="_blank"><b>COS</b></a>. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrdw7wvkvIRvZmdvqqgrNFt7R77pwW7YxjQSBNUWYJk4k-STxHWa9E0n8wfz0S4Yc4rBSaboScvRr2cA44sTuXdmRdcbMVlypgfxA7RzHy7CIcohjh5UfyTyhrTuxwNhZhWSdf46b94mc/s1600/sophie_smallhorn_x_cos_elements.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="812" data-original-width="610" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrdw7wvkvIRvZmdvqqgrNFt7R77pwW7YxjQSBNUWYJk4k-STxHWa9E0n8wfz0S4Yc4rBSaboScvRr2cA44sTuXdmRdcbMVlypgfxA7RzHy7CIcohjh5UfyTyhrTuxwNhZhWSdf46b94mc/s1600/sophie_smallhorn_x_cos_elements.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In flagship COS stores in Copenhagen, Hong Kong, Seoul, London and Los Angeles, Sophie Smallhorn made site specific window displays with these stacked, geometric color forms - basically taking up a lot of window space and thus upstaging the clothes completely, but with such wow effect, that it had the exact opposite effect.<br />
<br />
If you know a bit about COS's particular kind of colorful minimalism, the windows worked like an abstract depiction of the <i>brand DNA</i>. So brilliant and so beautiful.</div>

These displays are based on a series of small and quite delicate wall hung acrylic and aluminium sculptures - a theme she has worked on for a number of years - only in an enlarged version.<br />

Her graphic and sleek style just makes me jump with joy, <a href="https://www.pinterest.dk/search/pins/?q=sophie%20smallhorn&rs=rs&eq=&etslf=2257&term_meta[]=sophie%7Crecentsearch%7C0&term_meta[]=smallhorn%7Crecentsearch%7C0" target="_blank"><b>see much more of her work here,</b></a> and she proves to me yet again, that playfulness and orderliness are not necessarily adversaries!<br />

Here are a couple of examples of her 'Components' sculptures:<br />

And here's a nice little story to end this post with....<br />
<br />
I snapped a picture of the Danish window and posted it on Instagram. I saw a suggested hashtag in the window (check it out: <a href="https://www.instagram.com/explore/tags/cosxsophiesmallhorn/" target="_blank"><b>#cosxsophiesmallhorn</b></a>), and used it, to properly credit this fine work.<br />
<br />
I actually didn't notice, or only vaguely so, anyway, that I entered a competition - and only found out, when COS contacted me, and told me I had won two Sophie Smallhorn prints!<br />
<br />
Yayeee!! I am picking them up next week, and they look like this. Lucky me, don't you think?<br />
Maybe I should start buying lottery tickets? <br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Oh, Madonna. Lady Madonna. Happy birthday! Sixty today, and still able to cause a stir, make some serious noise and fill the dancefloor. Unapologetic, controversial and fearlessly fashionable, from the day she was born I imagine, and such an inspiration for my generation. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
From the moment I first laid eyes on her, sometime around <i>Like a Virgin</i> (an album I purchased immediately on it's DK release in 1884), I was smitten. And I still am.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
The photo above, is taken by Richard Corman in 1983, just six weeks
before her first album was released, and her almost immediate stardom
was a fact. And no wonder, huh? It just shows. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I <i>loved</i> that early phase of ruthless accessorizing, and her first, bouncy Jellybean (<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=loWcvzn_fxI" target="_blank"><b>'Holiday' is, and will always be, one of my favourite Madonna tunes</b></a>) and Nile Rogers produced hits. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
But she has remained a personal star and inspiration, because no matter what crazy, surprising turns her musical and personal style have taken, she has practically always felt <i>just </i>right and like exactly the thing you needed! How does she do it? And I say practically, because some of her work has been more marginal - but that has never been a problem for an artist who has the guts to experiment and develop. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
But there is consistency, oh yes! Because of course that gypsy/punk princess of the Richard Corman photos could be a <i>film noir</i> fetish godess. Or a geisha. Or a cowgirl. </div>

The circa 1990 <i>Blonde Ambition</i> phase, the razor sharp looking Gaultier / Dolce & Gabbana clad superstar, was another highlight for me. If you haven't seen <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madonna:_Truth_or_Dare" target="_blank"><b>In Bed with Madonna</b></a>, you should!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I could go on. But I won't.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Listen to your own Madonna Playlist today, celebrate a feisty woman who continues to grow and go new places, and is wonderfully age defying, when it comes to dress, style and propriety. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I will end with a couple of some of my later favourite looks - connecting to my favourite Madonna title track: <i>Ray of Light</i> and my perhaps favourite-as-a-whole album: <i>Music</i>. Meet the healthy yogi with a suntan (!) from 1998 (photo by Mario Testino), and the folksy rhinestone cowgirl from 2000 (photo by <span class="st">Jean Baptiste Mondino)</span>.... </div>

Exactly a month ago, we had the last snowfall this spring (I very much assume) after a very, very cold and snowy March. And then everything just exploded! We have had a historically summery April, and have had lots of fun, and been very busy. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But wow, is everything splendid, right now....</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />These first two images are exactly one month apart: the first snowdrops from our garden - and a glorious cherry tree I passed somewhere, yesterday. </div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
We did a lot of those things we always enjoy: had several days off, went to lunch-parties and sent out a lot of <a href="http://heartheartseason.blogspot.dk/2014/04/will-work-for-chocolate.html" target="_blank"><b>Easter Fools Letters, or Riddle Letters</b></a>, and even got a few. The fabulous green egg-shaped vintage vase below, was a prize for a such a letter, given to me, by my dear midcentury-modern aficionado friend. Lucky me! </div>

We even went to Berlin for a couple of very eventful days!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
We went to Berlin for two very specific reasons (if you ask me): First we <a href="http://berlincity.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/half-marathon-route.jpg" target="_blank"><b>did a little run</b></a> in the sun (it was seriously hot) - and to celebrate that, we had my very special favorite <a href="http://www.shisoburger.de/" target="_blank"><b>Shiso Burger</b></a> with fresh, minty apple-lemonade and lots of fries.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
In Berlin it felt like actual summer, and had only done so for a few days when we arrived. But the evenings were already warm, and everywhere people were out and about....</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Later on we celebrated the race just a <i>little</i> bit more at the cosy <b><a href="http://mikkeller.dk/location/mikkeller-berlin/" target="_blank">Mikkeller Bar</a></b> in Torstrasse. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And I have to show you the view from the hotel roof terrace (and sorry for that extremely poor cropping of the TV tower)!</div>

The legs are feeling rested now, and we spend most of our time trying to get our garden + small summer residence in some kind of working order. On a personal, professional level, I am very busy looking for new jobs and projects at the moment, and blogging is going into summer slow mode. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
My son gets in the last word (as usual) in this what-ever-became-of-the-last-many-weeks post. He is presently very interested in mixing sticky and oddly non-related substances together, in order to make <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1IS20IWE8o" target="_blank"><b>play slime</b></a> - which is <i>the thing</i>, right now. At least hereabouts....</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Good thing they can do it outside, now. It does get kind of messy, I can tell you.</div>

</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Pleating is not origami, but another great way to manipulate paper into strong three dimensional objects, and this year's Easter DIY project, is fun to try, if you have never tried pleating before. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
There is only one horizontal pleating line in this design - and I have made it <i>super</i> easy for you, because <i>all</i> the necessary lines are clearly marked on the design.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I made six different designs for these Easter egg like little lanterns, and I have made some variations to them, by pleating along different lines, and turning them some of them - so some are egg like, others more hot air balloon like, if you see what I mean. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Download the pattern sheets:<b> <a href="https://flic.kr/p/2mk7v4J" target="_blank">Design 1</a> / <a href="https://flic.kr/p/2mkfc4r" target="_blank">Design 2</a> / <a href="https://flic.kr/p/2mk7v3G" target="_blank">Design 3</a> </b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I also made you a little tutorial, with some photos showing the process and a few bits of advice. Pleating is hard to explain, it has to be tried and experienced - and then it becomes easy!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Download my How-to-Pleat-Easter-Eggs tutorial:<b> <a href="https://flic.kr/p/2mkbjFA" target="_blank">Page 1</a> / <a href="https://flic.kr/p/2mkgmXP" target="_blank">Page 2</a><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I went a bit color crazy - I long for spring and warmth and sun - and these are a bit more circus and carnival than traditional Easter decorations, but perhaps you feel the same?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Have a colorful Easter, and happy folding and pleating!</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
This morning we woke up to another snowy day in Copenhagen! Easter starts this Sunday, and we are all more or less desperate for some real spring. So let's enjoy ourselves a moment with a lovely Easter tradition from some of the sunnier places in the world (such places where palm trees grow).</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Making beautiful woven ornaments from palm fronds or leaves, is an Easter tradition for <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palm_Sunday" target="_blank"><b>Palm Sunday</b></a> (the day commemorating the triumphant return of Jesus into Bethlehem, where all his followers would wave palm leaves and greet him as a king). </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I have been curious about this tradition for a long time, having seen it on Pinterest and other places where folk art, DIY or crafts are shared - lovely and intricately woven crosses, flowers, crowns or animals - many Christian symbols, of course, but also poles or flower like pieces, like the <i>palaspas</i> above, from the Philippines, where the tradition is very strong. The palaspas are carried in great Easter processions, and sometimes also adorned with straw flowers.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
There seem to be almost no limit to the many pattern variations and techniques - and the tradition exists in most of Latin America, in many catholic churches in USA and is also widespread in Italy. <br />
<br />
In Florida and other places in the Southern USA, I have seen street vendors making quite non-religious sun hats, roses, grasshoppers and other pretty little things, so of course the material and the techniques are used for all kinds of things.</div>

I find all these simple and so beautiful weavings very inspiring, and would love to try and have a go at it, if I can find some strong enough grass like plant in Denmark, that would do. LOTS of tutorial videos on YouTube, just search for 'easter', 'palm weaving', 'palaspas' and you'll find them. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And to my joy, I discovered that it is also big in Ethiopia, a country that holds a special place in my heart (our son was born there), where the orthodox Christian community has a big Easter feast called <i>Hosanna,</i> where they give each other home made palm leaf rings - called Hosanna-rings! Aren't they great? The technique used here, reminds me of these <b><a href="http://heartheartseason.blogspot.dk/2015/10/paper-necklaces-by-catrine-berlatier.html" target="_blank">paper necklaces</a></b>.</div>

She works in several different materials, but I discovered her, through amazing images of her sculptural polyester fibre jewellery, on Pinterest and places like that. Her amazing craftsmanship leaves me breathless, and I have been wanting to share some of her work here for a long time. </div>

When I did a bit of research, I also discovered her mind boggling and intricate metalwork (links later in this post), but I will focus on her delicate jewels here. </div>

As I mentioned, I came across a lot of writing about her metal work, and it is every bit as stunning and full of detail as these creatures.<br />
<br />
It is more weird, fairytale like, full of images and symbols. Go check out <b><a href="http://www.nehomemag.com/elements-of-surprise/" target="_blank">this article from <i>New England Home</i></a></b>, wich also tells a bit about her unusual background (she grew up in a Buddhist temple!).<br />
<br />
<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_45-G4nXAo" target="_blank"><b>In this video she demonstrates a metal sculpture, which is almost like a Victorian puppet theatre, or some kind of three dimensional, magical in-a-box-world. </b></a><br />
<br />
And here she is!<br />
You can follow her on <a href="https://www.facebook.com/MarikoKusumotoArt/" target="_blank"><b>Facebook</b></a> as well.... <br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhczOKjonHAUt_lxPS3w7fH2wRdqrOaIcVGloZTw_VvsPDiYI168CGcPFy6LwVZFm4joGQzH6zDwYBmSDEBhxtPMy0ehxApybVrkquUGBudF3cFMCShuHIKY_R2HQ_o2M4E5fBD9fBN8sI/s1600/valentines_origami2_610.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="621" data-original-width="610" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhczOKjonHAUt_lxPS3w7fH2wRdqrOaIcVGloZTw_VvsPDiYI168CGcPFy6LwVZFm4joGQzH6zDwYBmSDEBhxtPMy0ehxApybVrkquUGBudF3cFMCShuHIKY_R2HQ_o2M4E5fBD9fBN8sI/s1600/valentines_origami2_610.jpg" /></a>The last couple of years, I have done a Valentine's origami project for the blog, where I have done special patterns, tutorials and such, but this year I have been too busy. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The other evening I did try these three dimensional <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9j-evjpZDP4" target="_blank"><b>puffy hearts</b></a>, though, and they were fun to make. <b><a href="https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCA7kuhQGNIO4X2dizncyiPQ" target="_blank">I found them on the Paper Kawaii YouTube-channel</a></b> - a really great place to go, if you like origami. The instructions are very well produced and super easy to follow. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Have a cosy, or perhaps even romantic, February 14th. Be good to someone, maybe especially yourself!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Go check out the <a href="http://heartheartseason.blogspot.dk/2017/02/you-should-definitely-heart-someone.html" target="_blank"><b>flat origami hearts from last year</b></a> - or perhaps the <a href="http://heartheartseason.blogspot.dk/2016/02/a-hidden-heart-origami-letter.html" target="_blank"><b>Hidden Heart origami letters</b></a> from 2016. That year I also posted some Valentine's themed <b><a href="http://heartheartseason.blogspot.dk/2016/02/menko-and-tato-folded-origami-letters.html" target="_blank">traditional Menko and Tato folded origami letters. </a></b></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
It's friday and I'm packing for the annual skiing trip to Sweden, a topic I have <a href="http://heartheartseason.blogspot.dk/search/label/skiing" target="_blank"><b>covered in great length before</b></a> - but I hope you'll forgive me. It's simply that I am always so delirious with joy that we are going, and can hardly wait. I get like a five year old, when I look at the images from the other years, to me it's better than Christmas (well, almost) and New Years put together, and the best thing we do all winter.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It also gives me an excuse to post silly or nostalgic skiing outfit pictures, so today I am presenting to you (above) the lovely Lady Clementine Churchill, in two piece wool, Hermès scarf and St. Bernard dog. 1937 in St. Moritz, of course, where apparently most truly stylish skiing takes place. She gets to go first, because I just watched the very see worthy <a href="https://www.netflix.com/dk/title/80025678" target="_blank"><b>'The Crown' on Netflix</b></a>, where she is portrayed in a very sweet manner. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
I adore these ladies as well....</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
However, I could <i>not </i>see myself doing much skiing in heavy wool trousers, fur and stiff leather boots. Skiing I find complicated enough as it is, and modern, functional sportswear are one of the reasons it is doable. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtGw-UBGNK_DlkA5vVMLhCM8YPdrEBHpR7WBt-NrPqwAGE5iS-hX_JGoynoTArNUZuRhdTeOQpHSavWHttVsGjt1aA6XXyTz0DFmj3ySiyepThYwdvnnhCDK9ZprPxZ7GS7uyn4HYneNc/s1600/brutgroup_london.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="612" data-original-width="610" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtGw-UBGNK_DlkA5vVMLhCM8YPdrEBHpR7WBt-NrPqwAGE5iS-hX_JGoynoTArNUZuRhdTeOQpHSavWHttVsGjt1aA6XXyTz0DFmj3ySiyepThYwdvnnhCDK9ZprPxZ7GS7uyn4HYneNc/s1600/brutgroup_london.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
My favourite Instagram flow at the moment is this one:<b> <a href="https://www.instagram.com/brutgroup/" target="_blank">@BRUTgroup</a></b> - a curated selection of images submitted from all over the world, with one theme: <b><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brutalist_architecture" target="_blank">Brutalist architecture.</a> </b>Now, this is an architectural style most people have lots of opinion about, and no wonder, as it often has a kind of totalitarian-regime-vibe, and seems to be more about elaborate, over-the-top visions, rather than constructive ideas. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
But if you follow this account, and see the generous flow of images from all corners of the world, you get a much more nuanced idea, and sometimes simply a bit of a laugh - some of the projects are really absurd (and beware: a few of them are created in Photoshop!).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
But there is something really beautiful here, I think. At least it's sculptural and eerie, and just perfect as a kind of architecture of the soul for this January, with its usual lack of sunshine and eternal howling wind. </div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2E9xLAVqzrdeporc8rnlRn8_4-JkiTFlBPPFIZ1A-gc4_cM7juhJVg9TZlS6HOuzyF7UJbe5zLmMXY2zfvFaW6kccm1jrhcqzw_xVJe1WI39Wnf6xH9tpbFus-FDBT1BVLT58nUCzHzA/s1600/610_red_daruma.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="610" data-original-width="610" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2E9xLAVqzrdeporc8rnlRn8_4-JkiTFlBPPFIZ1A-gc4_cM7juhJVg9TZlS6HOuzyF7UJbe5zLmMXY2zfvFaW6kccm1jrhcqzw_xVJe1WI39Wnf6xH9tpbFus-FDBT1BVLT58nUCzHzA/s1600/610_red_daruma.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
A <i>Daruma</i> is a Japanese painted papier-mâché tumbling figurine, and a very popular talisman, if you want to set yourself some goals in life, but have ordinary human limitations and need a bit of encouragement. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It is very much that kind of time in my life right now, and I have a very small one (but size does not matter) staring at me, as I type this.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The plump, little guy is actually a portrait of <i>Bodhidharma</i>, the monk who founded zen buddhism, and when used as a talisman, it works like this: first you set a specific goal - and yes, it needs to be quite specific, measurable and not vague. Then you go get your Daruma. The Daruma is born with blank eyes, and the next thing you do is fill in <i>the one</i> eye. Place your Daruma somewhere near you, like at your desk or bedside table, where he will look at you, wink-wink, reminding you about your goal. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And then one day, amazingly, your goal is achieved. And <i>then</i> you get to fill in the other eye. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOf8TmKXZMtQ7KrOtUMjc18FGNQfsAEjYVaxSj8YdRIIIrk74oieYj76ewBzb6PZ098f7kBnHlzhgRtC7fKaTbWHx_MHqnT4vpAe9IwrDPx5z_ubA6loCFN9p1-8_9jWTNnjA7HD8oUV0/s1600/610_tony_lopez_via_pinterest.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="610" data-original-width="610" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOf8TmKXZMtQ7KrOtUMjc18FGNQfsAEjYVaxSj8YdRIIIrk74oieYj76ewBzb6PZ098f7kBnHlzhgRtC7fKaTbWHx_MHqnT4vpAe9IwrDPx5z_ubA6loCFN9p1-8_9jWTNnjA7HD8oUV0/s1600/610_tony_lopez_via_pinterest.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
They are to some extend a New Years tradition, but not exclusively. The Japanese use them all year round, and they even come in different colours for different themes: gold for financial matters, purple for health, white for love etc. The red, for general good luck, seems to be the popular one!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daruma_doll" target="_blank"><b>Read much more about them here...</b></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
There is a zen proverb often connected with them: <i><br />Nana Korobi Ya Oki, </i>meaning 'Fall down seven times, get up eight'. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
With that little guy, I wish you all a very happy and healthy New Year, and hope that your dreams will come true, and that you will meet some of your important goals.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
For all the impatient kids who are tired of bending over their their iPads or TV-shows (and perhaps even some of their parents?), I have this little Christmas present. If you have never had a kaleidocycle in your hands, it's about time you did. This is a cunning little paper construction, and easy to build yourself - and I have made you one with festive and seasonal snowflakes. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
All you have to do is <a href="https://flic.kr/p/2mkgkpy" target="_blank"><b>download this design</b></a>, print it on regular paper (perhaps the heavier quality, if you have it), cut, trace and glue. I took a few photos to show you - <a href="http://heartheartseason.blogspot.dk/p/magic-paper-toy-kaleidocycle-tutorial.html" target="_blank"><b>see the mini-tutorial here.</b></a> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
It folds endlessly into itself, giving you lots of time to think of something nice and relax for a bit. Think of it as a very low tech fidget spinner, and even something you might decorate the seasonal table with. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I even made you a primitive GIF to show you how it works.....</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Happy <i>Lillejuleaften</i> as we say in Danish - or 'Little Christmas Eve' </div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Even though I am technically only semi-employed and freelance working at the moment, it feels great to be able to say: Finally Christmas vacation and a bit of peace and rest! Or not quite yet, that is. Today we are having a party at our house, tomorrow it's office Christmas parties, Saturday it's going to be all about (I suspect) slightly panicky shopping - and then there's the <i>big</i> to do on the 24th. <br /><br />But then, perhaps? All I wanna do is take a long, long walk, some place beautiful and quiet, <i>without </i>shopping bags or places to be at a certain time.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I love this photo, I found it on Flickr a long time ago. It's by Manuel Raposo, and appears to be taken in Salzburg. I want to be in that photo. </div>

If Christmas hasn't gotten to me yet, it always will at Lucia, on December 13th. I think it is one of the most wonderful of all Christmas traditions, and the story behind is beautiful as well. <a href="http://heartheartseason.blogspot.dk/2011/12/happy-lucia.html" target="_blank"><b>Read an old post about it here</b></a> (and find recipes for saffron Lucia buns).</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Regular readers of this blog will know that I am a closet Swede, and when I think of Lucia, I do associate it very much with Sweden, but I am delighted that we have adopted the tradition here in Denmark. <br />
<br />
Not many schools, kindergartens or shopping malls in Denmark today, without a parade of sweetly singing children, bearing (practical, modern and battery powered) candles and clad in white gowns (worn over their practical GoreTex outfits and winter boots.) Most of the kindergarten kids doing the parade, will make a round of retirement homes and hospitals in their local area.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In Vesterbro in Copenhagen, the church organize a large Lucia street parade, and another wildly popular event is the Kayak Lucia Parade, where hundreds of kayaks, all trimmed with lights and torches, paddle and sing in all the inner city canals. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Happy Lucia, and may the light of love and compassion shine on you all. </div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
On this grey and sludgy Tuesday, my eyes feast on these large mobile sculptures by the Finnish artist <a href="http://www.jennirope.com/" target="_blank"><b>Jenni Rope</b></a> - they look like slow motion explosions. They are big works, more like room installations, and are not the only type of thing she does - she is also a very fine painter and graphic artist (I love <a href="http://www.jennirope.com/Huuto" target="_blank"><b>those brushstroke works</b></a> and also her <a href="http://www.jennirope.com/Vimma" target="_blank"><b>textile pattern design</b></a>). But <a href="http://heartheartseason.blogspot.dk/search/label/mobile" target="_blank"><b>mobiles</b></a> are something I was always quite crazy about, and the way she uses styrofoam slabs to make these, is really cool. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
When you paint styrofoam, it looks like all kinds of <i>other</i> things: rocks, minerals, concrete - heavy, somehow. And a bit unreal. </div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
I always find it an enormous inspiration, when artists work in anywhere available and inexpensive materials, such as these. You don't need brass, bronze or granite to make fine sculptural expressions!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Sometimes she does on-the-floor installations with these odd, painted shapes, I really love this one from 2011, 'The Findings'. </div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
The Christmas project for you this weekend, are these cool stars. I named them Japanese Quilt Stars, because they look like the stars often used in traditional quilts - and I made you special print-and-cut paper sheets for these, with lots of Japanese vibe. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
They are surprisingly simple modular (6 unit) origami stars - not made from square papers, but from rectangular ones. I have made you some very easy to use sheets for printing and cutting, crop marked for your convenience. With my sheets a star like this is about 18 centimeters across.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
My sheet-designs are for printing on both sides, because this design really displays both sides of the paper (and they have a very pretty and completely different looking backside....) </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9JtDyH5ZIKGNvShcZt5l7TFnaR52D_NaWLxpyHnGbNlJcXZovujzYPa7yEJ8WizdZSm2ltxkjT0qoeso31SoI4EPRmwl-jv2t4yQYBcI5KiliSuJBlG94momJmOF2viuxtuzyk2zdl68/s1600/610_enkelt_stjerne.jpg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="610" data-original-width="610" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9JtDyH5ZIKGNvShcZt5l7TFnaR52D_NaWLxpyHnGbNlJcXZovujzYPa7yEJ8WizdZSm2ltxkjT0qoeso31SoI4EPRmwl-jv2t4yQYBcI5KiliSuJBlG94momJmOF2viuxtuzyk2zdl68/s1600/610_enkelt_stjerne.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJ2dXTQxUxdGP-o6Qbuk8jsJxuivSyBUQq4I_OeMbRn4Y5VsyfqCgY5xPWdVfCnXZwNdf7VLKLIYTQEyQ8SIVieZhVa_8JtjxhOQ4oaU33I6NjuO-XydQTfhcNGP2hrthKuX-WNNFK7nM/s1600/610_9gruppe_bagsider.jpg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="610" data-original-width="610" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJ2dXTQxUxdGP-o6Qbuk8jsJxuivSyBUQq4I_OeMbRn4Y5VsyfqCgY5xPWdVfCnXZwNdf7VLKLIYTQEyQ8SIVieZhVa_8JtjxhOQ4oaU33I6NjuO-XydQTfhcNGP2hrthKuX-WNNFK7nM/s1600/610_9gruppe_bagsider.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
To print these sheets (four small sheets per A4, and you need six units for one star) on both sides, set the printer to print 'page 1 only'. Then grab your sheets from the 'out'-tray, turn them over, put them in the feed tray blank side up, and print again, this time set to 'page 2 only'. I do this all the time, because of my obsession with designing my own origami paper, which - of course - is so much nicer with print in two different designs.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Download my designs right here. I mixed them a lot, as you can see from the backsides, but just one pattern can be varied, in alternating between which pattern you face outwards, in the first fold. </div><p>
</p><p>2021: I have a new location for my downloads, and they are now to be downloaded one page at a time, but for results like in my images, pair the designs like I have, one for the front, one for the back.<br />
